SWS branch cut steel for an 114,000 DWT Aframac tanker

On July 9, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) successfully held a steel cutting ceremony for a 114,000 DWT product tanker (Hull NO.H1594) which was built for Cape Shipping Company of Greece.

Designed by SWS, H1594 is the first 114,000 DWT Aframax tanker built for Cape Shipping of Greece and classed by ABS.

The 114,000 DWT product tanker has an overall length of 249.95 meters, a beam of 44.0 meters, a depth of 21.2 meters, a design draft of 13.5 meters. With a design speed of 14.5kn, it is equipped with a MAN B&W 6G60ME-C10.5 main engine which meets TIER III specifications.

Moreover, H1594 is also the third 114,000 DWT product tanker built by SWS branch, marking the gradual formation of SWS branch’s batch construction capacity for the Aframac tankers under the mode of “off-site shipbuilding”.
