On July 8, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard (Zhoushan Changhong International) started the construction of the third 50,000 DWT MR product tanker (Hull NO. CHB5003), whose owner is Marshall Pro Tanker Investment Company.
MR tanker is one of the main ship types in the liquid cargo ship market and has a broad market prospect. Zhoushan Changhong International designed and built the 50,000 DWT chemical tanker series with an overall length of about 182.95 meters, a beam of 32.2 meters, and a depth of 19.10 meters, and is classed by LR.
The MR tanker is of stern type, powered by a single pitch propeller diesel engine, and it meets the requirements of unlimited navigation area, with a design speed of 14.5 knots.
It is understood that this MR tanker is scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2025 October.
