It is understood that CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal is located within Abu Dhabi Khalifa Port, operated by a joint venture between COSCO Shipping Ports and Abu Dhabi Port Authority, which opened in December 2018, with a design capacity of 2.5 million TEUs per year. The terminal currently operates more than 20 international routes connecting more than 60 ports.

Chen Yuping, General Manager of CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal, said that as an important project of Sino-Arab cooperation, CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal has played an active role in making Khalifa Port one of the world’s top 50 ports. In the first six months of this year, the terminal realized a year-on-year growth of more than 35% in throughput. In the future, the terminal will be committed to building a smart port, upgrading port automation facilities and sustaining green and low-carbon emission reduction, contributing to the China-Arab cooperation in building the “Belt and Road”.

Mohammed Blaikie, representative of Abu Dhabi Ports Authority and Deputy General Manager of the terminal, said that CSP Abu Dhabi Terminal’s cumulative achievement of 5 million TEUs of throughput is a milestone in the terminal’s operations and reflects the joint efforts both of the Arab and Chinese sides.
