COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Yangzhou) kicked of TMS DRY’s first 211,000 DWT bulk carrier

On July 4, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Yangzhou) officially started the construction of the first bulk carrier (Hull No. N1169) of eight 211,000 DWT bulk carriers build for the Greek shipowner, TMS DRY.

This bulk carrier is the latest generation of Newcastlemaxes bulk carrier, which is the first project of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Design and Research Institute cooperating with MARIC by adopting the joint design mode and possessing independent intellectual property rights.

By optimizing the line shape and propeller, configuring high-efficiency energy-saving devices, installing shaft generators, adopting large cargo hold hatch opening optimization and other measures, it achieves better economic performance, stronger propulsion efficiency, and greener and more eco-friendly comprehensive performance.
