On July 3, the first set of 5500HP ammonia fuel control monitoring and safety system which was independently developed and produced by COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Technology (Weihai) (CHIT) was successfully passed the factory acceptance test (FAT) by China Classification Society (CCS) and the ship owner.
The system is equipped with fuel tank monitoring, ventilation monitoring, ammonia detection, ship-to-shore connection, emergency shutdown and other functions.
The system integrates ammonia fuel filling, storage, barging and ammonia treatment and recovery processes, providing a safe and reliable solution for ammonia fuel supply to ships.
Meanwhile, the system tries for the first time to integrate intelligent operation and maintenance system to provide preventive maintenance program for system equipment, reduce maintenance and repair costs, and guarantee the safety and stability of system operation.
