On July 4, the vessel “Guojia Nengyuan 821” was officially put into operation, which is the first 85,000 DWT bulk carrier named after “Guojia Nengyuan”, marking a new stage in the renewal and upgrading of the international ocean-going fleet of CHN Energy.
“Guojia Nengyuan 821” series design independently developed by Huangpu Wenchong Shinpbuilding, with a length of 228.9 meters, a beam of 36.0 meters, and a depth of 20.15 meters and a full load draft of 14 meters. The bulk carrier has a deadweight of 85,000 tons with a cargo hold capacity of 106,000 cubic meters, which is suitable for loading various bulk cargoes such as coal, ores, grains etc.
In terms of design, the bulk carrier adopts energy-saving technologies such as hull line optimization and upbuilding resistance reduction, and is equipped with high-efficiency energy-saving devices, which have the lowest resistance among similar bulk carriers.
“Guojia Nengyuan 821” is equipped with an energy-saving deflector on the stern, which can improve the propeller propulsion efficiency, increase the speed, reduce the energy consumption and significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emission, featuring leading technology, energy saving and environmental protection, and its performance indexes such as fuel consumption, speed, and capacity have all reached the world’s leading level.
Compared with traditional Panamax vessels, “Guojia Nengyuan 821” reduces daily fuel consumption by about 5.7 tons and increases cargo hold capacity by about 16,000 cubic meters, positioning it as a new-generation eco-friendly Panamax bulk carrier, and it is also the largest ocean-going bulk carrier in the fleet of CHN Energy in terms of cargo carrying capacity.
The construction of “Guojia Nengyuan 821” was started on August 8, 2023, launched on April 20, 2024, started sea trial on June 3, and completed on June 12. On June 28, Huangpu Wenchong completed the delivery and naming ceremony. And H3029G, which is the sister vessel of “Guojia Nengyuan 821”, was successfully launched on June 20, and is now in the sprinting stage of delivery, and is expected to be formally delivered in September this year.
After the delivery of the two new vessels, the international ocean-going fleet of CHN Energy will reach 10 vessels with a total deadweight tonnage of 780,000 tons, which will provide strong support for expanding the control over the transportation of energy materials and continuously polishing the brand of “CHN Energy” in the international shipping market.
