ZPMC Qidong Marine Engineering launched the bow section of the world’s largest FPSO

On July 3, Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Qidong Marine Engineering, a subsidiary of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC Group) successfully launched the bow section of the FPSO project N1151 (P-82).

It is understood that this FPSO project is constructed by COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore, and the hull of the project is constructed in three sections in parallel, and ZPMC Qidong Marine Engineering is the contractor for the construction of the bow section of this FPSO project, which is responsible for the whole process of the construction and delivery of the bow section.

With an overall length of 360 meters, a beam of 60 meters and a depth of 34.3 meters, and a total weight of over 80,000 tons of hull steel structure, the FPSO project is currently the world’s largest specification FPSO project. It is designed to store 1.6 million barrels of oil and its daily capacity is 225,000 barrels of oil and 12 million cubic meters of natural gas. The FPSO will be connected to 16 wells (9 oil producing wells and 7 reinjection wells), equipped with carbon dioxide capture and geological storage technology, and using dispersal moorings.

It is reported that the successful completion of the bow section has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent three sections of the FPSO project to be closed together, which also provides a strong guarantee for the final delivery of the FPSO project.
