HAIXIN delivers a 10,000-ton class cable-laying vessel

July 3, Jiangsu Haixin shipping Heavy Industry (HAIXIN) smoothly delivered a 10,000 tons of cable capacity of cable-laying vessel named “Qifan 19”. It is the first cable-laying vessel with single carousel loading capacity of more than 10,000 tons, and is another “great power” in the field of marine equipment.

With an overall length of 108.6 meters, a beam of 37.2 meters, a depth of 8.6 meters, a design draft of 6.0 meters and a gross weight of 11,793 tons, “Qifan 19” can meet the requirements of unlimited navigation area.

With electric propulsion system, the vessel adopts power positioning DP operation capability ahead of the world’s mainstream cable-laying vessels. It is equipped with professional cable construction equipments. In addition, it also adopts longitudinal cable laying layout, which breaks through the new technical function of assembling catenary submarine cable laying for the first time, and it is the most advanced cable-laying vessel built in China.

As a core equipment for the construction of offshore power transmission and transformation projects, the vessel is an important equipment guarantee for the national ocean engineering to go to deep sea. “Qifan 19” has created a number of domestic and international firsts, which is of great significance to standardize and lead the development of domestic submarine cable engineering equipment technology.

The delivery of the vessel also means that China’s competitiveness in the field of new cable-laying vessels will be greatly enhanced, contributing to the construction of a stable and reliable deep sea wind power transmission channel for the relevant countries and regions, and assisting in the transformation of global energy utilization to green and low-carbon.
