On July 2, Chinese bulker owner and operator Jinhui Holdings Company Limited (Jinhui Holdings) issued an announcement on “Major Transaction – Acquisition of Vessel” to further expanding its fleet.
The announcement disclosed that an indirect subsidiary of Jinhui Holdings with approximately 55.69% interest entered into the Agreement dated July 2, 2024 as purchaser with the seller, White Reefer Line Corp. in relation to the acquisition of a vessel. The purchase price of the vessel is US$24 million ( about RMB175 million). The vessel will be delivered by the seller to the buyer between September 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024.
According to the announcement, the vessel is named “OCEAN COURTESY”, a 178,000 DWT Capesize bulk carrier, registered in the Marshall Islands and built in 2008 by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS).
According to the announcement, Jinhui Holdings is specialized in international ship chartering and ship owning. In light of the recent developments in the shipping market, the directors of the Company have been concerned about the current market conditions in the shipping industry and continue to seek to fine-tune the quality of the Company’s fleet and adjust the Group’s fleet mix appropriately. The Directors believe that the acquisition of the Vessel will enable the Jinhui Group to optimize its fleet portfolio through continuous portfolio management.
