Xinle Shipbuilding Receives Order for 8 Chemical Vessels From TB Marine

Recently, Zhejiang Xinle Shipbuilding (Xinle Shipbuilding) and TB Marine-Hamburg GmbH of Germany successfully signed a bulk order for 22,000 DWT IMO Class II chemical tankers.

It is reported that the order includes eight 22,000 DWT IMO Class II chemical tankers, which will be delivered from the second half of 2026. The price of the order has not been disclosed yet.

Developed by China Ship Design & Research Center in cooperation with TB Marine, the chemical tanker meets the stringent standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and industry specifications, and is designed to meet the growing demands of the global chemical transportation market.

Equipped with dual-fuel engine, the chemical tanker can be operated on conventional fuel or methanol, featuring energy-saving, environmental protection and high efficiency. It meets the USCG requirements for unlimited navigable area, and all the marine equipments adopt the most advanced and eco-friendly technology in the industry at present, which makes it a high-class vessel with high technology content.

The chemical tanker is known to have adopted a number of innovative technologies, including an advanced hull design, a highly efficient power system and an advanced ship management system to ensure the safe and efficient sea transportation of chemicals.

With a history of more than 50 years, Xinle Shipbuilding has 1 dock of 50,000 tons and 30,000 tons each, and the largest gantry crane is 700 tons. Chemical tanker has been the main product of Xinle Shipbuilding, the shipbuilder has built dozens of various types of chemical tankers.

Xinle Shipbuilding’s latest publicized batch order came in November 2023, when the shipbuilder signed a contract with Turkey’s Mlla for the construction of 12 8,340DWT general cargo vessels and six 7,500DWT tankers, with a total order value of $230 million. The delivery schedule is currently scheduled until 2027.
