HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediate holding company for HD Hyundai Group’s shipbuilding business, announced on July 1 that it recently signed a contract with an African shipping company for the construction of four product tankers.
The order totals 266.7 billion won (about $192 million), with a single-vessel price of about $48 million.
The order for four newbuildings is of 37,000 deadweight tons and will be built by HD Hyundai Mipo and delivered in June 2026.
Including this order, HD KSOE has received orders for a total of 116 newbuildings (including one offshore facility) valued at $12.35 billion this year, achieving 91.5% of its annual order target of $13.5 billion.
