On July 1, Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping (Group) issued the Announcement on The Purchase of Assets (Two 63,500 DWT Bulk Carriers for Foreign Trade).
The announcement disclosed that a subsidiary of Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping intends to enter into two 63,500 dwt bulk carrier construction contracts with Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment (JSHT) for the construction of two 63,500 dwt bulk carriers.
The construction value of the vessels, the method and time of payment for the construction and the date of delivery of the vessels are subject to the construction contracts to be signed. The contract price for a single vessel is US$32.8 million (excluding tax) and the total price of the two vessels is US$65.6 million.
The announcement indicates that the newbuilding of vessels is based on the business development needs of Guohang Ocean Shipping, meets the production needs of the company, and can optimize the fleet structure, reduce the operating costs and energy consumption level, improve the competitiveness of the company, which will have a certain positive impact on the long-term development of the company.
It is understood that Guohang Ocean Shipping is mainly engaged in the dry bulk cargo transportation business of international ocean-going, domestic coastal and the middle and lower reaches of Changjiang River routes, and is one of the large-scale shipping enterprises of domestic dry bulk cargo transportation.
