Italy’s Rosetti Marino wins offshore contract worth $428 million

Libya’s Mellitah Oil & Gas has awarded Italian manufacturer/shipbuilder Rosetti Marino and its consortium partners Kerry Project Logistics and Gruppo Antonini a $428 million offshore contract to be used for offshore projects in the Mediterranean.

Mellitah Oil & Gas Libya is a consortium of the Libyan National Oil Corporation and Eni North Africa. The contract is equivalent to 33% of the overall project value.

Under the contract, Ravenna-based Rosetti Marino will be responsible for the project’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project for the delivery of the upper module of the wellhead platform, weighing about 6,000 tons, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2027.

In 2023, Rosetti Marino received the world’s first contract for an offshore hydrogen production and storage platform from Dutch offshore wind farm developer CrossWind, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco.

The contract covers the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of a megawatt-scale baseload power hub fully integrated into an offshore wind farm, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
