Ocean Installer wins offshore contract for over $95 million

Norwegian state oil company Equinor has awarded Ocean Installer an offshore contract to provide services for the second phase of the Equinor-led Troll 3 project.

Under the contract, Ocean Installer will supply subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines for the project, including extensive fabrication work and offshore engineering over a three-year period. The contract is valued at more than NOK 1 billion (about $94.5 million) and construction is expected to begin in 2025.

Ocean Installer’s work scope includes the fabrication and installation of four large pipeline termination structures, five spools, subsea pipe cleaners and receivers for the gas pipeline, as well as 6 kilometers of MEG pipeline and protective covers.

The company will also install OneSubsea’s subsea production system and umbilical cables, as well as undertake trenching and pre-commissioning work.

Ocean Installer’s offices in Stavanger and Oslo have already begun work on this, and said that most of the fabrication work will be carried out by Norwegian contractors.
