CIMC SOE Wins World’s First Order for Fuel Tanks for Liquid Ammonia-Powered Bulk Carriers

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE), a subsidiary of CIMC Enrico, has successfully received an order for marine liquid ammonia fuel tanks applied to the world’s first liquid ammonia-powered bulk carriers.

It is understood that, as this liquid ammonia fuel tank project will be used for the world’s first liquid ammonia-powered bulk carrier constructed by Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding. The tanks are made of cylinder with high pressure resistance, each tank has a geometric volume of 3,000 m³, a length of 31 meters, a diameter of 12 meters, and all of them are hemispherical heads. This order is for 6 ship sets totaling 12 3,000 m³ liquid ammonia fuel tanks, which are designed and constructed by CIMC SOE independently.
