CPOE awarded jacket construction project for more than US$100 million

Recently, CPOE Offshore Engineering (CPOE) signed a contract for the construction of the Ruya jacket project in Qatar with McDermott Group and Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan (QMW). The amount of this contract is more than US$100 million for the preliminary project alone, which is the largest jacket construction project of CPOE so far.

As the core component of offshore oil platform, the jacket plays a key role in carrying and transferring the load from each part of the platform. It is not only a solid steel structure, but also the cornerstone of the offshore oil platform’s stable foothold on the sea. In the Ruya project in Qatar, the scale of construction of the jacket is remarkable, with a total of more than 60,000 tons of steel processing, of which the largest single component weighs nearly 10,000 tons, fully demonstrating the scale of its large and complex engineering.

The project is implemented with the highest standards in the world, and its quality requirements are harsh, whether in terms of process standards, precision control, or the frequency and standards of testing the performance of welded, all of them are far more than similar projects in China, which is regarded as an artistic masterpiece in the field of giant steel structure.

The construction cycle of the whole project lasts four years and involves a series of complex and delicate processes from processing design, procurement of auxiliary materials, to construction, to loading and sealing.
