Southeast Shipbuilding Holds Steel Cutting Ceremony for Two 18,500DWT IMO II Tankers

On June 17th, Southeast Shipbuilding, an enterprise under Fujian Shipbuilding, successfully kicked off the construction of two 18,500 DWT tankers (DN517-1/2) for Seacon Shipping.

With an overall length of 149.8 meters, a beam of 22.8 meters, a depth of 12.7 meters and a design draught of 8.5 meters, the tanker is mainly used for transportin product oils, vegetable oils, and liquid chemicals (Class II and Class III) with a suitable flash point of ≤60℃, which can meet the requirements of the IBC specification. The tanker is features of shallow draft and large cabin capacity, and it meets the requirement of unlimited navigation area.

At present, Southeast Shipbuilding has signed contracts with Seacon Shipping for a total of six 18,500DWT tankers. It is worth mentioning that Fujian Shipbuilding has accumulated rich experience in the design and construction of oil chemical tankers, and so far it has delivered nearly 50 tankers, which have won the unanimous praise from the industry for the excellent quality and good performance of the tankers.
