Recently, Shanghai Micro Power Technology (Micro Power), a subsidiary of Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research institute (SMDERI), and Zhejiang Huaxiang Shipping (Huaxiang Shipping) formally signed a supply contract for 1+2 ship sets of MR-type reliquefaction devices for LNG carriers, and signed a cooperation agreement for the long-term supply of MR-type reliquefaction units for LNG carriers and LNG bunkering vessels in the following years.
As the key core cryogenic equipment on LNG carriers and LNG bunkering vessels, MR-type reliquefaction device mainly utilizes the mixed working medium phase-change reheat liquefaction technology to cool the LNG boil off gas (BOG) step by step to -162℃ and then liquefy it and send it back to the liquid cargo tank, which not only avoids economic loss and environmental protection problems caused by the direct discharge of BOG, but also guarantees the stability and safety of the pressure in the liquid cargo tank, featuring the advantages of low power consumption, high reliability, and good economic performance.
To localize the device, Micro Power, together with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, focuses on key technologies, after years of joint research, they have developed 1t/h, 1.5t/h series of marine MR-type reliquefaction devices, and has the ability to supply in batch, which breaks through the monopoly of foreign companies on the large-scale cryogenic equipment.
As a company providing comprehensive solutions for gases in the marine field, Micro Power has the ability to liquefy all kinds of gases in a wide temperature range of 70-230K. At present, the company has successfully fulfilled the development and application of liquid ammonia deep-cooling liquefaction device and LNG reliquefaction devices, and will continue to devote itself to the cryogenic gas liquefaction business to provide shipyards and shipowners with efficient and reliable products and solutions.
