On June 13th, Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), held a signing ceremony with CSSC Power (Group) Corporation (CPGC) for the purchase of 41,800-ton generator sets of self-unloading vessel.
The 41,800-ton self-unloading vessel is a new generation of pure electric green ship upgraded by Chengxi Shipyard on the basis of the self-developed 40,000-ton self-unloading vessel, with six generator sets onboard and a power of 15,704 kilowatts, which is the largest power station in the shipbuilding history of Chengxi Shipyard. Compared with the 40,000-ton self-unloading vessel, this self-unloading vessel has more cargo capacity, and the power station and electric propulsion system are more green and advanced, which will further strengthen the leading position of Chengxi Shipyard in the industry in the construction of self-unloading vessels.
It is understood that the contract is the largest single contract for generator procurement of Chengxi Shipyard. When the ship owner intended to use imported generators from Japan, Chengxi Shipyard proactively practiced the policy of in-sourcing and communicated with CPGC in a timely manner. With the joint efforts and close cooperation of both parties, the ship owner was finally convinced to use the generator sets of CPGC’s Marine Power Zhenjiang (CMP).
The successful signing of this batch of generator sets is another successful example of Chengxi Shipyard joining hands with the supporting enterprises in the group for common development and the friendly cooperation with CPGC in all-round and multi-dimensional aspects.
