Zhenjiang Shipyard steel cutting for a hybrid ASD tugboat

On June 13th, Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd (Zhenjiang Shipyard) cut steel for a 7000HP hybrid ASD tugboat driven by hydrogen and electric built for Shandong Qingdao port.

The ASD tugboat is the first big power ASD tugboat driven by hydrogen and electric, adopted by power mode of hydrogen fuel battery and Li battery. To aim at building new type of fuel battery and green eco, it can reduce over 1,400 tons of CO2 emission and achieve zero emission and pollution.

Founded as early as on May 25th ,1951, Zhenjiang Shipyard, is the first founding shipbuilding enterprise in Jiangsu Province and the first identified hi-tech marine enterprise re-approved by Jiangsu provincial government.

The group has 5 wholly-owned subsidiaries in China such as Jiangsu Lan Bo Shipbuilding Co. Ltd and Zhenjiang Lan Bo Ship Design Co., Ltd etc. And it also invested one share of subsidiary in domestic market, two in an oversea marine company, owning one Dock factory. Currently, the shipyard covers an area of about 500,000m2 and possesses a coastal line as long as 700 meters. Being equipped with three slipways, one 80,000 DWT, one 20,000 DWT and one 5,000 DWT, the yard also boasts two fixed quays and one outfitting dock. The maximum lifting capacity of the DWT is 600 tons. With a total reach of 1200 meters, the quay is also featured by a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tons. It is a technically advanced ship builder and the manufacturing process is split into three units, hull manufacturing, outfitting and paint coating.
