Beihai Shipbuilding delivers a 210,000 DWT bulk carrier ahead of schedule

On June 13th, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding (Beihai Shipbuilding) and China Shipbuilding Trading (CSTC) as the joint seller, named and delivered a 210,000 DWT bulk carrier, which was built for Chinese Maritime Transport (CMT), and the new shipbuilding was named “China Vista”.

This new shipbuilding was christened and delivered 109 days earlier than scheduled, which is the eighth vessel delivered by Beihai Shipbuilding in the first half of the year.

Classed by ABS, “China Vista” has an overall length of 300 meters, a beam of 50 meters, a depth of 25.2 meters, a design speed of 14.78 knots, a structural draft of 18.5 meters and a deadweight of 210,346 tons. It features the advantages of “green, environmental protection, energy saving, safety and reliability”. Equipped with shaft generator, it is expected to save about 2 tons of oil per day in fuel mode (TⅡ) and 3 tons of oil per day in diesel mode (TⅢ).

Meanwhile, the bulk carrier is fitted with a high-voltage shore power reserved symbol, which can be added to the high-voltage shore power system later; it is fitted with an smart ship notation and a cyber security notation, which makes it in the forefront of the industry in the field of smart ship and cyber security.

It has been certified that all the indicators of the bulk carrier meet or exceed the requirements of the contract and reach the international advanced level, and has been unanimously recognized by the shipowner and the classification society.

At present, Beihai Shipbuilding handheld orders for 71 new ships, and 210,000 DWT of bulk carriers and 325,000 DWT of ore carriers handheld orders ranked first in the world, of which new energy-powered vessels accounted for 60, covering LNG, methanol, ammonia fuel, etc., and the coverage rate of green vessels is as high as 84.5 percent.
