Southeast Shipbuilding successfully delivered a multi-purpose SOV

On June 13, the multi-purpose offshore wind service operation vessel (SOV) (Hull No. MW913-1) built by Southeast Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding, was officially delivered. It is a large-scale multi-purpose offshore SOV independently designed and constructed in China with fully independent intellectual property rights.

“Feng Hua 23” has a length of 98 meters, a beam of 22.8 meters, a depth of 9 meters, with a designed displacement of about 9,497 tons and an endurance of more than 10,000 tons.

With a specially designed operating deck, the SOV can carry diversified technical equipments according to different operational requirements, and is capable of performing engineering services such as operation and maintenance of deep-sea wind power, cable laying and overhauling, making it a powerful instrument for the development of deep-sea wind power and other marine engineering operations. Its configuration of offshore wind power intelligent operation and maintenance system, cable laying operation system and other core equipments are fully localized.

The SOV is designed by Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC) under China Stated Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), which fills the blank of China’s deep sea cable laying and operation and maintenance, and adds another weapon for China’s offshore wind power development towards the deep sea.
