On June 10th, Alita (Shanghai) International Shipping signed a contract for the construction of 2+2 13,800DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tankers with Zhejiang Haoyou Shipbuilding.
It is reported that the contracted vessels are duplex stainless steel chemical tankers with unlimited navigation area, which can carry liquid bulk chemicals of Class II and III as specified by IMO.
The bulk carrier has an overall length of 132 meters, a beam of 21.50 meters, a depth of 11.30 meters and a design draft of 8.30 meters with a speed of 13.4 knots. It has a maximum main engine power of 3,400KW and a hold capacity of 15,200 cubic meters.
The first bulk carrier is scheduled to start construction in September this year, launch in July 2025 and deliver in November.
