SDARI and CCS Successfully Carried Out 3D Drawing Review on Real Ship

Recently, Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and Shanghai Rules & Research Institute of China Classification Society (CCS) have successfully carried out drawing review on real ship.

Based on the 1,100 TEU container ship SEALIION 1100 project, the two sides completed the 3D drawing review of the middle section of the cargo hold and the model of whole ship structure, and initially formulated and fulfilled the workflow for 3D review of hull structure.

The 3D drawing review project started at the beginning of the year, and then the two parties had several rounds of communication and discussion on the key technologies of 3D drawing review and put forward a feasible work plan for 3D drawing review at this stage. In May, the team successively completed the work of submitting and withdrawing from the review of typical segments of the hull structure and the model of whole ship structure, and completed the workflow for 3D model from submitting, reviewing, stamping to withdrawing.

As a key application scenario in 3D design, 3D review can give full play to the application value of 3D models and effectively improve the information exchange and communication efficiency between design and review. SDARI and CCS will continue to strengthen the research and application of 3D design and drawing review technology to help the digital transformation and development of the whole process of ship design.
