World Advanced Diving Support Vessel Completes Its Sea Trial

On June 4, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) successfully completed the sea trial of diving support vessel (DSV) “Wadad Aletheia”, marking that the vessel entered the final stage for delivery.

The vessel has an overall length of 145 meters, a beam of 27 meters and it can accommodate a crew of 200. It is equipped with 400 tons of wave compensated retractable crane, DP3+ positioning system and a maximum speed of 15.8 knots.

The vessel is China’s first DSV assembled with embedded 24-person dual-bell fully automatic saturation diving system, with a maximum diving operation depth of 300 meters, which is one of the most advanced DSV in the world.

During the sea trial, the DSV successfully completed more than 200 sea trial items such as endurance, speed measurement, hull characteristics, DP power positioning test, FMEA test, etc., and all the test results met the design requirements.
