Changhong International Delivers a 5,300 Container Ship to NAVIOS

On June 3rd, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard (Changhong International) completed the on-line signing and delivered the 4th 5,300 TEU container ship “ZIM HAWK” to the Greek owner NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L. P..

The 5,300 TEU container ship series consists of 10 vessels, which measures 237.8 meters in overall length, 38.8 meters in breadth and 21.8 meters in depth, and is classed by DNV.

The design of the ship breaks through the limitation of the traditional container ship’s narrow body shape and adopts the innovative large wide body concept to optimize the line shape. Also, it is equipped with high efficient and energy saving power reduction main engine with low fuel consumption, its EEDI energy consumption index etc. is lower than the baseline index by more than 30, which meets the phase 3 requirement.

Equipped with lashing bridge, this series of container ships can carry 3,845 14T containers, which is 145-345 spaces more compared with other designs of the same ship type; equipped with 1,000 cold box sockets, the ships can carry 750 cold boxes in parallel.

In addition, the container ship is equipped with ultra-low sulfur oil system, AMP, SCR and BWMS, showing its green and environmentally friendly sailing concept in all aspects.

“ZIM HAWK” will set sail on June 5, officially joining the owner’s operating fleet and beginning its commercial journey.
