Hengli Heavy Industry Secures Order for Two 82,000 DWT Bulk Carriers

Greek shipping company Veritas Ship Management has placed an order with Hengli Heavy Industry for the construction of two 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers at a cost of $38 million each, with a total order value of $76 million, according to Trade Winds. Veritas Ship Management said the move is intended to continue the fleet renewal process.

The official website of Veritas Ship Management shows that the company is a third-party ship management company dedicated to providing excellent maritime services. The company currently owns six bulk carriers built between 2006 and 2011.

In June 2023, the company had placed an order for four 63,600 dwt Ultramax bulk carriers at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Zhoushan), which are expected to be delivered in 2026.

It is reported that this is the 4th new ship contract that Hengli Heavy Industry has publicized this year. Together with the latest order, Hengli Heavy Industry has contracted sixteen 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers this year, with the cost of a new shipbuilding ranging from $35 million to $38 million, all of which were ordered by foreign shipowners. Up to now, Hengli Heavy Industry’s handheld order book for 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax bulk carriers has exceeded 40 vessels.
